Whether it’s your first attempt at throwing on the wheel or you’re looking to upskill, taking a private lesson is a great way to increase your confidence on the pottery wheel.

Your private lesson with one of our resident instructors will give you 1 hour & 45 minutes of instruction on the wheel. Each lesson will focus on proper technique & give you the tips you need to advance your skills.

The fee includes instruction, clay & all the tools needed for your lesson. You can choose up to two pieces to be fired & to keep.

Lessons are available for 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 with one of our expert instructors listed below.

Teaching art, to me, is being part of someone’s journey into creativity. From their first touch of clay, through the basics and fundamentals of how to shape it, to sharing their moment of pure joy in seeing what they have created. This is what inspires and sustains my own creativity, and I am honored to be a part of it.

I took my first ceramic class in 2018 and it quickly became my favorite art form. I lean towards making functional objects, both thrown on the wheel and hand built, that can be used in every day life. I’m honored that I get to share my love of pottery both through my own designs as well as through being a part of others creative journey. I’m so excited to help you learn to express yourself through clay!

    BIO

I am a ceramic artist based in San Diego’s South Bay and I have been working with clay since 2019.

I use clay to explore the way my personal, technical, and artistic experiences come together to create both functional (think mugs and bowls) and sculptural (like little statues) works.

My goal as an instructor is to establish a foundation for you to feel welcomed to explore your own ideas at Get Centered or anywhere you do clay. As a community member, my goal is to convince you to keep coming back to clay, the way I continue to come back to it after all these years.
